It's possible with the A/C off the computer will allow the car to warm up a little more before kicking in the fan..

I have a 2016 1.8L chevy sonic that had a coolant leak on the thermostat housing. Replaced the thermostat housing and heater inlet pipe and now the cooling fan doesnt come on unless the AC is on max, causing the car to overheat. I thought the new thermostat sensor may be defective so replaced it with the old one just to check and same issue.There are two main causes for engine overheat: ⚠️ The coolant does not flow through the system like it should.
