Posted July 19, 2021. 3 Ohms should be fine, as a normal 12V ignition coil primary circuit resistance is between 0.7 and 1.7 ohms. You should not damage the points. If the coil resistance is too low after the motor runs for a while, the coil will start to get hot, but 3 ohms is a good reading.It could be sparkplugs, timing, or fuel issue. First, check to see if the fuel pump is working when you turn the key- you should hear it buzzing or whirring. If it isn't, that's your first issue. The blades I used are Woods 3975 KT on a Woods 42 so common on the Cubs on this area. Here is a new blade compared to a worn and bent one. The blade mounting assembly is acessed here.
