Finally replacing my AR Maglock Gen 4.. Hogue Freedom Fighter is so much better than AR Maglock Gen 4. I shot my rifle with Gen 4 once and immediately knew it was not a good option. Freedom Fighter was leaps and bounds better. I filed down the pin because I could not release the mag if the bolt was locked to the rear.So I've decided on the Armaglock but struggling deciding between gen2 vs gen3 specifically around the takedown pin options . Functionally I like how the Kingpin only slightly separates the upper but the Kingpin only works with the Gen2 maglock. I'm curious though why with the Gen3 they've moved to using the Patriot Pin, which fully separates ...

I have the kingpin paired with DD CA bolt catch. I don't care for the Maglock button and prefer standard mag release button. Problem is, I have no idea which way to place that 'L' shaped washer piece against the bolt catch. Can't seem to find any videos either. Sand down the maglock a little bit and you CAN get it to squeeze through your receivers with the bolt locked back, allowing you to clear malfunctions. I'm fairly new to the ar 15 platform. Recently installed ar maglock gen 4 and kingpin to my ar 15 and everything seems to be working fine. However, whenever i push the the kingpin and release the magazine, the bolt lock releases the bolt.
