Called the Nation’s T. rex, it will be the centerpiece of the museum’s new 31,000-square-foot dinosaur and fossil hall, which is slated to open in 2019.The Smithsonian Institution holds the largest collection of natural history specimens in the world, with approximately 155 million items, 145 million of which are at the National Museum of Natural History.
